Dog Adventure July 2025

THE CAMP BARKALOT STORY

Nestled deep in the heart of Barkalot forest, Camp Barkalot has been the training ground for generations of brave and daring pups.

Founded by the trailblazing Chief Scout Setter and the original canine council - Howler, Pawprint, and Whisker - the camp has become legendary for turning wide-eyed pups into honorable campers, ready to face the full power of the wilderness.

It was on the council's maiden journey into the forest, over a hundred years ago, that they discovered an old stone tablet in the heart of the woods. This tablet has since become the stuff of legend, with the only sentence anyone remembers from the carving being: "The Forest Belongs To The Brave".

Before the pups can embark on their own adventure, they must first follow in the footsteps of countless hearty hounds before them and undergo Scout Training.

Just like their human scouter-parts, they'll learn the essential skills they'll need to thrive in the wild: knot-tying, first aid, camp survival, and the importance of teamwork. Every dog will be rigorously tested through a series of daunting challenges that will prepare them for the journey ahead.

Each week the pups will earn badges for mastering key scout skills. But it's not just about the activities - it's about embracing the Canine Camper Code: loyalty, bravery, and responsibility to their pack.

By the end of Scout Training Month, the pups will have earned their four badges and be prepared for the next phase of their journey at Camp Barkalot - where they'll take everything they've learned and apply it in real wilderness adventures.

WEEK 3 PAWCASSO IN THE WILD!

Week 3 prepares the pups for the mental challenges they'll face at camp. It's all about creativity and problem-solving - key components of the Camp Barkalot experience.

The pups will work on paw-print art, creating unique masterpieces to be hung up around camp as a constant reminder to express themselves throughout their time in camp.

This week is also about using their minds to solve puzzles just like camp founder Pawprint. The pups will tackle puzzle feeders and even craft nature-inspired art from the forests hidden treasures.

Each pup will earn their Camp Artist badge celebrating their imaginative spirit and ability to think out of the box.
