Our Culture

At Fairview Boarding we strive to create an environment where dogs enjoy spending time away from home. The same should be true for each member of our human team! To achieve this, we must have an effective, helpful and encouraging culture. We pride ourselves on having a staff that is upbeat and happy with the customers and with each other. All members of the team, regardless of position, deserve to be heard and understood. We are lucky to be able to work with dogs and their parents each day, but it is hard and tiring work. Everyone must support and encourage each other every single day.

Our customer’s dogs are family members. They are deserving of respect and loving care. At Fairview Boarding our goal is to make the dog’s stay as stress-free and fun as possible. Dogs are full of unconditional love. And it’s our duty to give some of that love back to them.

Part-time Kennel Tech

The kennel tech provides daily care and attention to the daycare and lodging dogs in the facility. In this job, you will:

  • Clean and sanitize kennels, beds, exterior runs, and common areas

  • Launder bedding, clean and sanitize dishes

  • Feed and water dogs according to their specific dietary needs

  • Administer medications as directed by staff

  • Monitor the health and behavior of all dogs and report any concerns to the supervisor

  • Exercise and interact with the dogs to ensure their well-being

  • Maintain accurate records of animal care and treatment

  • Check dogs in and out as needed

Required qualifications

Previous experience working with dogs in a professional setting (ex. Kennel, Vet, Shelter, etc.) for at least 1 year.

Basic Qualifications

  • Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately

  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and staff

  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that involve heavy lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays
