Kennel Technician

Are you a morning person who loves animals? Do you thrive working with a team and staying organized under pressure? Join our dedicated team as a Kennel Technician at our busy, full-service dog care facility!
Job Overview:
As a kennel technician, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the safety, cleanliness, and comfort of our lodging guests in the morning. This position that requires maturity, reliability, and strong animal care knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:

Walk and rotate dogs to play yards for potty breaks

Clean and sanitize: kennels, laundry, dishes, mopping, play yards, and other common areas

Scoop and dispose of pet waste

Observe and document physical or behavioral changes in pets
-
Administer medications (oral, topical, and insulin)

Deliver extra care services like cuddle time and enrichment treats
-
Prepare and serve meals per pet-specific instructions
-
Use our software system (Gingr) to log notes and updates
-
Maintain clear communication with other staff
-
Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies (including pet medical emergencies) should they occur
Qualifications & Skills:
-
Must be at least 18 years of age
-
Previous professional animal care experience (1 year required)

Skilled in time management and self-direction

Excellent attendance and punctuality
-
Confident in handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments
-
Able to recognize signs of illness, injury, or behavioral issues

Comfortable working with customers
-
Calm under pressure, especially in emergency situations

Proficient with or able to learn pet care software (Gingr)

Open availability including weekends and holidays
-
Enthusiastic about providing compassionate, high-quality pet care
What we offer:

Schedule: Morning shift

25 hours per week, with more hours during peak seasons

Potential for full-time schedule

Hourly wage: $16.00 - $18.00/hr
